Bringing in the New Year

Happy New Year!  Welcome to the year 2013...uh....wait.  Looks like I've missed a few posts.

Like 3 years worth of posts.

Well, I apologize to all the people who really missed my blog.  All 2 of you.

So much has changed in the last few years.  I won't try to rehash it all.  Here are a few things, though, that you might find of interest.
  • We did finally get a house!  It's on 7 acres and the house is set back in the woods.  What a blessing.
  • The farming operation began again (very small) last year.  We named the farm "Sherwood Forest Farms".
  • We've acquired quite the cadre of animals:  3 goats, 1 lamb, 2 barn cats, 7 hens, 2 roosters, and 3 rabbits.
  •  A new child was added to the brood.  For those counting, that makes 5 boys and 2 girls.
I started this blog in November of 2009.  I didn't realize it was that long ago.  My purpose at that time was to share with you my journey toward "The Simple Life".  I don't think my purpose has changed much, but my definition has certainly changed.  I suppose I originally thought I would share our adventure about becoming farmers, but now the term means so much more.  It's more about casting aside the distractions of this world and focusing on the things that are meaningful to God. I know that sounds subjective, but I hope that over time I can show you just how I believe God has that playing out in my life.

In future posts we'll talk about family, farming, hobbies, and homesteading.  Maybe you can journey with me and we can encourage each other along the way.
